From 1999 through 2007, we were in World Cycle 223 – a 7 cycle. 7 cycles are known for cultural advancement, religious events, and treaties. The 2s indicate that both cooperation and conflict were likely. The 3 pretty much guaranteed that there would be some form of cultural advancement.
The events of this period are recent enough that few world history books cover them. It was long enough ago that my own memories are a bit hazy. Thus, I will cover only events that the United States was a major part of during this time. If you have access to information on other events, then go ahead and discover for yourself how those events fit into culture, religion, and treaties (trade deals count here, since they are a form of treaty between two or more countries).
The seminal event of this period is, of course, the attacks of September 11, 2001. This was a universal 3 year, 3 month, and 5 day. The 3s are indicative of culture, but the 5 indicates change. Therefore, we had a change in our cultural mindset on that day. The attacks were carried out by a particularly militant cult that associated itself with Islam. (Please note that most Muslims do not have any wish to be associated with any such cult, just as most Christians do not wish to be associated with any of the more extreme cults in the U.S., though many of those cults associate themselves with Christianity.) Thus, we have both a religious event and conflict. Many changes to the American cultural mindset date back to that event. For example, many news programs started to place more emphasis on events that threaten the safety or security of small groups of people, which in turn led to more parents trying to keep their children as safe as possible – thus, the ‘helicopter parent’ phenomenon.
This event also led the war in Afghanistan, then the war in Iraq. Both of these wars were unusual in how they started. Typically, one nation will declare war on another nation, and then both sides will scramble to find allies as the war tilts in one nation’s favor or another. With these ‘wars’ (though technically they are only considered conflicts), the United States chose to obtain the blessings and cooperation of the member nations of the United Nations. Many of those nations chose to join forces. Rather than shortening either conflict, such cooperation actually protracted both conflicts, as agreements had to be drawn up about who would exit each country when, and how the retreating forces would be protected by those still there. As the adage goes, there were too many cooks in the kitchen.
This is the period in which smartphones and tablet computers started to become ubiquitous. Use of the Internet also skyrocketed. As we numerologists know, the number 7, when applied to the individual, is associated with science and technology (among other things). So it is not a surprise that these technologies were embraced by cultures around the world, or that such technologies in turn wrought cultural change.
If you wish to compare 1999-2007 to previous 7 cycles, the three previous cycles are 1918-1926, 1837-1845, and 1756-1764.
In my ‘World 2017’ blog, I discussed some of what the coming year will look like. However, I do not just predict the future – I also look at the past. I chose 2008 through 2016 because that is the most recent world cycle. This look at the numerology behind that cycle may help you understand why certain events occurred at that time.
We were in cycle 224 – an 8 cycle. 8 cycles focus on fame, fortune, and business. The 2s in 224 indicate a need for cooperation. The 4 indicates limits and a need to be practical.
The first effect of the 8 cycle fell on fortune. Due to the burst of a housing bubble and several other factors (see the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Recession), much of the world entered a recession. It is interesting to note that the majority of the countries that had an economic recession were first-world countries – the countries that tend to create world policy. Most of the second- and third-world countries actually experienced an economic boom. Even more interesting is the fact that China, in 2008, was considered by most people to be second-world at best. However, that is the country that had the biggest economic boom at the time, and now most people consider China to be a first-world country.
The recession was officially over by the end of 2009, which makes sense, since 2010 was a 3 universal year, and those are known for a sense of joy. As many of you know, that relief was not felt by individuals, or even many major corporations, though it was felt by most countries. In fact, a weak recovery from the recession (which was indicated by the 4 in 224 – 4s typically build slowly) was felt next by corporations, who had to restructure spending plans, rebalance budgets, and cut back on spending. That trickled on down to individuals, as people lost jobs or had hours cut back and had trouble finding sources of income to replace the lost revenue. Depending on where you live, you could have continued to see the effects into the present, though for most, the worst was over by the end of 2014.
This makes sense numerologically because 2015 was an 8 universal year – a year for fame, fortune, and business. Given the negativity of the 8 cycle to this point, doubling it turned it positive. Thus most individuals and surviving corporations saw an increase in income that year.
Fame did not play a major role until 2016 – the final year of the cycle. It was a 9 year – a year for endings. The 1 indicates leadership and the 6 indicates responsibility and humanitarianism. Thus, we saw an inordinate number of famous role models die that year. As many of my friends have good reason to know, role models who were not so famous were also prone to dying, particularly in the beginning of the year. There has been some spillover into 2017, though we should see the deaths taper off to a normal level in March or April.
Now you know why major events happened when they did from 2008 through 2016. If you wish to compare that cycle to the three previous 8 cycles, those occurred during the years 1927-1935, 1846-1854, and 1765-1773.
We are just starting a 1 universal year – a year for independence, attainment, and things that are new. Big things are happening, and original ideas abound. 1 years are when we see the craziest fashion statements on the runways. If you like car shows, you are likely to see some of the most outlandish concepts. The same is true in other areas where style is an issue. These crazy ideas are not likely to enter the mainstream, of course, though you may see things that incorporate pieces of those ideas. Expect major, world-changing events to occur this year. We have seen hints of what these might be – Brexit, the Scottish vote for independence, and rumors that certain states in the Unites States of America are considering secession all indicate independence, and the election of Donald Trump is just one indication of attainment and new things that are coming. Japan has been craving independence, in the form of removing the influence of American military bases from their country. I’m sure that other countries have had similar things happening; I just haven’t heard about them.
We get to that 1 via a 2 (enhanced by a 0), a 1, and a 7. The 2 suggests that diplomacy is going to be very important, and many of the best ideas will come from groups. However, the negative 2 indicates conflict, which rather explains this war on terror that has been happening since 2001. 2 is also a detail number, so the little things will be noticed, even if they don’t play a part in the larger scheme of things. The 1 indicates that the big picture will not be lost. Leadership, executive ability, and ambition are important this decade– all of which Mr. Trump embodies. The 7 indicates education and analysis, as well as anything that requires education and analysis – science, math, technology, metaphysics, etc. I expect at least one, and more likely two, medical breakthroughs to occur this year, leading to cures of or the drastic reduction of some common diseases and medical problems. Most of the other sciences will have breakthroughs as well, requiring textbooks to be rewritten. Expect technology to take a leap forward, giving us a new option to buy in 2018. It is entirely possible that a practical application for quantum physics will be discovered this year as well.
And you would think the analysis would be done – but no. Juno Jordan (AKA the Grandmother of Numerology) pioneered the idea of world cycles in her book Numerology: The Romance in Your Name. Each world cycle is nine years long, and always starts in a 1 year, so we are also starting a new world cycle. This is world cycle number 225 – which adds up to a 9 world cycle. 9 cycles tend to be associated with social and religious reform. The 2s indicate diplomacy, cooperation, attention to detail, and teamwork, but there are two 2s. As a result, we are likely to see the negatives as often as we see the positives – conflict, indecisiveness, timidity, apathy, lack of discipline, and carelessness. There is one 5, indicating expansion, change, the unexpected, and freedom. I expect that racial and religious tensions will continue to be an issue for the next few years, and they are likely to get worse before they get better. This cycle starts in January 2017 and ends in December 2025, and the world will look very different when it ends. The three previous 9 cycles were 1936-1944, 1855-1863, and 1774-1782, all of which were major turning points in American history.
